The Return of the Avid Blogger (or maybe not)...

Hey guys, I'm back. Without me saying further, this entry will mark my return. You guys should know why I haven't been posting any entries lately. Firstly, it was my internet kangtao then followed by my fricking old CPU. Finally, everything is done and dusted and I'm up and running again. It seems that my presence wasn't missed as I can see there are many entries being posted. Haven't gone through all of them but i'll try to find time for k. However, for those that I have read, I must say some of them are pretty interesting especially those by Teh. Kinda funny aren't they! Well... Throughout this period that I was gone, many events had taken place and I think it would be best to keep everyone posted. Yes, it's official. I HAVE GOTTEN BACK MY PINK IC!!! That signals the 1 yr 10 mths stint in SAF which I dreaded so very much. Of course I'm not lazing around like most pple would post NS. I wish I could but money isn't just gonna fall from the sky rite. Hai~ Talking about my new job just make me wanna cry. Argh!!! Now I know what it's like working in a retail line. Fricking long hours and hardcore selling. So much politics among colleagues as well. Hai~ Not to mention that my social and leisure time have taken their toll. Well... It may not be a sinecure job but I have certainly gained a lot of exposure. There is always pros and cons when you go into a new environment. As much politics as there may have during work, my colleagues are actually quite a fun bunch to hang out with after work. However, that doesn't mask the fact that I really dislike 1 or 2 of them. If I could have my way, I would bury them so deep down in the earth that they could feel their asses incinerating from the molten core's heat. Like Lady Sovereign's song goes, "love me or hate me it's just an obsession; if you love me then I love you, if you hate me then fuck you." Enough said about pple I loathe. Why make my blood boil when I can bask in my infatuation towards one of my colleagues! Erm... Come to think of it, my feelings for this particular colleague hasn't really given me too much joy. It has more of a melancholic chord to it. Seriously, it's plain to see why since she's really really too far out of my reach. People will definitely think that I'm insane to like her. If you notice, I never mention her name as I can't be too explicit just in case she chances upon our blog. I guess this is pretty much it to update and Ah Du is complaining that I'm typing too loudly so it's time to bid farewell for now. Adios amigos...

What I yearn for...

This is Blackburn here. A number of issues to say in this post, hopefully it will not take you guys a day to read. Haha…

Firstly, I like to tell everyone that I had a very happy Christmas Eve dinner this year. A special “Thanks” to anyone who attended and those that took your precious time to buy presents for the dinner. And “nice to meet you” to Lishan. Hopefully she is not so put off by Mendi present.

Secondly, I have actually registered an account under CQcounter for a counter for our blog. I was able to get the HTML part for the counter to put in this blog template, but it does not seem to appear. So I’ll need help. Anyone who knows pls help k?

Thirdly, I just want to tell you guys about the updates that I promised. For anyone who still has no idea, I am working at British American Tobacco as a HR intern till 29-12-2006. After which, I will go back to SMU to MUG like hell. I am still single. I am “desperate but not looking for a partner” mood now. I guess this desperation will die down soon. I have also been fond to use this sentence lately, “It is okay if I am still single now. Cos when I reach 35 years old, I still can go other countries to find.”

The above sentence is not that I do not think Singaporeans girls are inferior but it’s a way for me to console myself and to control my lately “desp” mood.

I have also been really unlucky in mahjong lately. So pls guys do not try to temp me in Mahjong again? K…. if not the lulu debt will be never ending.

Hm.. I guess that all the updates.

So for my last issue for this post is something about “Midnight Sun”. I know this may be the 3rd time someone post on this particular movie but I just wanna urge everyone to watch it.

After watching “Midnight Sun”, I have learned and felt that….

What I yearn for is a colourful love life with a happy ending.

A love just based on feelings and nothing much else.

Although I know this kind of love will not exist in this world, but at the very least “Midnight Sun” still gave me this * little bit of hope.

Thus, I will really urge you guys to watch it.

I know I said that this next post should be my updates, but apparently I am going to work in 5 mins, so I am just gonna put up this post first.

This is a song by Gigi leung. She broke up with Ekin Cheung after 7 years. Quite sad… the story was that, the very night, she wanted to throw a surprise engagement party for him. But he dumped her. Until now, she is said to be hurt by what happened.

This is a new song in her album which really touched me. (I’ll have the English translation for those that cannot see and don’t understand the Chinese words. But it may not be totally accurate. Sorry)

Let's Celebrate!

Hi,

Let’s cheer… Cos Barcelona LOST in the world club cup. Haha… Apparently, mendi said he was gonna post something interesting that day after the raining soccer day. I guess it musz be something about Barcelona winning a cup. And since they did not do it, I guess we still have to wait for the long-waited-mendi’s-post.

Okok… enough of mendi… Even when you know he is not looking at this post, we just have to make fun of him.

I do have something interesting to tell you guys… Apparently, my ex-GF saw the article on the newpaper. So she congratulated me… Until now, I still do not know whether I should be happy or sad…

Anyway, there is still something to look forward to… CHRISTMAS PARTY! Let’s all look forward to it….

For all the single guys, there is still something to look forward to… Getting older… What I heard from my work place is that as we get older, we get less desperate and also we get richer. By this time, all the singles girls will be flocking towards us.

So stay positive, there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

Simply can't get enough of my Yui..

Yo guys, here is a post especially thanking those who came down yesterday to Orchard to support my dad.. Although a bit humid and a lot of pespiration, I hope u guys enjoyed his performance.. I certainly enjoyed the music and the christmas songs he played.. Thanks again, my dad and i appreciate it..

Christmas is round the corner and the trip down to town yesterday certainly hyped up the mood. Here is a reminder to those who have yet to get a gift for the xmas dinner exchange. 2 things : the budget is $10 and a very important point is to REMEMBER TO WRAP IT UP HOR!!~~ if not i make sure u wrap it up with ur money that day.. make the event more surprising..

Personally Christmas has taken a whole new meaning. Firstly it signals the end of the year, and it gives us a chance to look back at the year and recap on the ups and downs. For the ups, hope it continues to the new year and for the downs, be glad that its over and we have a spanking new year to look forward to!!

It also gives us a chance to repent and take the new year as a benchmark to a beginning of a brand new start. So, to hell with 2006 and welcome 2007.

Its gonna be the most highly anticipated year for the clique. People embarking on respective missions and definately there will be plenty of stories to share. For myself, i will be going to a whole new environment which u guys are more excited then i am..haha..don't worry, there will be plenty to look forward to.

Btw the birthdays will be coming thick and fast yet again so prepare for the onslaught. 23 years old liao, and i hope mandy will not give himself kangtaos again.

Updates

I was just thinking how ignorant i am about the current doings and status of our clique guys and girls. Especially when its sometimes hard to meet up and stuff. So i was thinking of saying something about myself and hope that others will follow suit.

I'm going to become a trainee teacher from jan onwards at seng kang primary. Probably teaching english and mathematics. I'm not very smart or witty so i chose teaching where the core elements are hard work and patience and for whatever other talents that i lack there's always practice and experience. If i perform well and pass the EPT(entrance proficiency test), i will be enrolled in NIE, if not...then its byebye to a teaching career.

I view my personal life and career as 2 separate elements. I will be a morally good teacher yet be true to myself when im outside work. Honestly, i'm horny and sex-deprived. Whenever i'm not concentrating on a task, i'm thinking of girls and sex almost 90.312% of the time. But i will not allow such beastly intincts to affect with my work, its something that i know and will realise.

Now i'm trying to brush up on my english and maths so i will appreciate any help that any of you can give. i'm trying hard to procure textbooks and stuff to read up these 2 wks.

The worst Holidays...

Hi,

Blackburn 1-0 AS Nancy.

Lets give them a round of applause!! I know you all will be wondering who the hell are AS Nancy, but who cares? The fact is Blackburn won!! Yeah!!

Anyway, I need to thank Mr. Teh for him having his first post. I hope he will get his wish.

Let’s see…I am now in my office but in no mood to work… every morning when I reach the office, I am already thinking of what I going to do after work. I just hope these holidays pass quickly and I can leave this place. I know many of you will be scolding me at this point of time. But please spare me!

I don’t really like to work just for the sake of money, at least I try. I never thought this internship will become like that. It is not that it’s boring. I think it’s because it is a work of HR and I am not into this line.

Many of you will also be thinking…. “But what about the Kip Huis there?”

I just don’t think it is possible for me and any one of the ladies here to become an item. I just know that if I am still single at the age of 35, there is always Vietnam and China.

For updates, China around 1000 dollars. Vietnam is 1999 dollars.

Mendi, start saving now. 1 dollar a day, I think you will have that much cash at the end of the day.

The "Burning" Sensation

Hi,

It’s me again. Mr Talen(ted) Blackburn. Since I am free from office work now, I decided to put up this post that I wanted to do since the last soccer session.

Ever heard or remember this phase?

“Dey, my legs are on fire!”

To recap, this phase started out with little Ronaldo aka Ma Jiang Xiao Wang Zi (Mahjong Prince).

Before anything-else, I just want you to relax and imagine.

“On a sunny Sunday morning, we are playing soccer against the Lao Jiao (Old Birds). Lao Jiao no. 1, Mr Candy, mis-kick the ball. Then, the ball fell to your feet. You push the ball upfront and on came Lao Jiao no. 2, Mr Endless. Candy is behind you too. At this moment, you search for your team-mates. But everyone is too tired and did not make any run into space.

You are on your own now.

You tried to flick the ball pass Endless. Due to his long legs, his leg managed to hit the ball but he did not get it. You chase for the loose ball, with Candy going for the same ball.

Candy got the ball.

Then you suddenly felt this sensation through your legs. And you pull the ball away from Candy’s legs and push it forward. This time, Lao Jiao no. 3, Mr Lawrence, came up to tackle you. This time round, you did a Ronaldinho flick instead and the ball went past Lawrence. You run with the ball. You saw Endless and Lao Jiao no. 4, Mr Ah Seng, running towards you. You pulled the ball back and turned. You went pass Ah Seng. You are now, one on one with the last man, Lao Jiao no. 5, Mr Eric. With him being his lazy self and standing there, you smack the ball straight up with power.

The ball went up and in between the basketball posts. GOAL!

You scored that day’s most sensational goal!”

So how do you feel now? Do you have the urge to play soccer this Sunday? Do you feel your legs burning now?

That was how I felt last soccer session, as I tried to and succeed in dribbling pass the opponents that day. The feeling was “Superb”.

Anyway, I did felt the “Burning” Sensation on my legs. Thus, I fully understand what Mahjong Prince was trying to say.

Putting Team GMH On The World Map

Yo guys!!

I juz realised its been a long time since I put up a post, so here is one that is long overdue.

Finally team GMH has made its mark on one of the largest circulating tabloid newspaper in Singapore, and I’m sure at least half a million people read the article yesterday. I expect the majority of them to recoignise us on the streets. So from now on, we must watch our conduct in public more than ever before. Which simply means, BE MORE TISIAO AS EVER!!!!!

Before I forget, here is special thanks to the people who made this all possible. Bravo to Talen for initiating the idea and wasting no time tying it down with kumar! KUDOS to OUR DEAR G. NANDHAKUMAR aka KEANE for taking time off his busy schedule to organise this whole thing in the midst of his exams and projects. Thanks dey! We really appreciate it...!! Owe u a X mas treat..

Now to the article. 2 FULL pages exclusively on us with our picture spreading across one whole page on prime spot in the sports section of a FRIDAY!! What more could we ask for!! No wonder the paper sold out so quickly..

The selection of our picture was a tad disappointing though. I personally liked the one where we posed garang.. It looked good on camera and at least kumar din look sideways and we could see lulu. The push up pose was even worse man! We could only see super fit psycho with his angkong and side views of me and bing han. And a Man U jersey till now I cant figure out who it belonged to. A picture of us in action, Kesuma sliding with a million dollar smile looking at the camera, Karthi with his wacky poses with the ball, Sof with his king kong climb, or myself with the ronaldinho trick I must have did over 20 times for the camera, would have captured us more in context.

Amanda, I think u owe us an explanation as to why u din come lor.. The whole article and story angle would otherwise be eye-catching and definately would have added a touch of glamour to it. I can already picture the poses we could have done had u been there. “Thorn amongst the roses’’ as the title could have guaranteed another million people views on our article. U and kumar could have been interviewed on how u guys took passion on the courts to another level and posed for a loving pic! The possibilities would have been endless.

Spare a thought for the guys like talen. He intended to use that article to promote GMH as a soccer team open to all females who juz like to play soccer but can’t find a team that enjoys it crazily!! Then u could have said somethin like

‘I was lost, but I enjoyed soccer a lot to give it up.. I almost did.. until i met Team GMH.. they were the ones who picked me up...literally.. and never looked back since then... so gals out there who share the same passion, u are welcome to join me and discover soccer like u have never done before!! Then we can form a all ladies team the next time..btw, we have a lot of cute single guys in our team’’

As for the written part, I need to set the record straight in case any liverpool scouts stumble across this blog. I AM NOT A FULL-BACK.. I think coz i was playing in that position when the reporter came, thus he assumed. Tapi I Ebuoe lah..Kumar did submit the full names of the whole team in case u guys were wondering, esp those guys who din come. But somehow he chose not to mention. Karthi hor, despite ur hectic schedule, come EVERY SUNDAY hor..

Special thanks to kumar who made that ‘special’ remark. In my heart, u guys are special too.. Although most weren’t direct comments made by me, I couldn’t have put it better myself. So thanks again dey, i loved the ending!

Overall, it was an immensely enjoyable and satisfying experience that i’m sure we’ll never forget. Notice i din say experience of a lifetime, coz i’m about to make a promise on the behalf of TEAM GMH.

I will check out the new Tung Lok restaurant at Vivo, then after dinner we can catch a movie or something. Watever it is, pls do it fast, i reckon we aren’t the only ones celebrating xmas on that day. Need to reserve already: tick tock tick tock..

This is the 2nd time I am typing this. Cause the blogger is not working. Sad… So long have to retype.

So a piece of advice to all, Pls save your work in other platform first.

I believe you all have seen the new paper article “Our Roots Are in Team GMH”. So how do you feel about it? With all the hype over, I believe you all will have your fair share of comments.

So do I.

(I am not nagging K…)

Anyway, as the Chinese (or whoever said…), “Do not let your expectation get too high, you will be disappointed.” Overall, this is how I feel.

And here are some comments I like to add.

1. When is Alonso a Full back? (The only evaluation I can come up with is that because he was playing at the back that day, so he feel that was the position he has been playing.)

2. Alonso got free advertisements for soccer trial. (Hope that eventually Liverpool will see this article. Come let’s pray!)

3. Alonso… you had trials with woodlands? (Hm…never tell me… that’s you… I think only when you really get in, then will you say.)

4. Amendi, Y never come? (If only U r there… then we can change the focus to “The Ambassador of Female Soccer”. Haha… but pls next time no more kangtao… if not you will really become MENDI.)

5. Amendi… U were supposed to be the focus. (Limelight is good for us. Think of all the singles in our team. Erm... Like me… Haha...)

6. Psycho also famous already. (The pic should come along with a lot of Kip Hui.)

7. Y only so little names? (The only evaluation I have for this is that the reporter lost his piece of paper.)

8. Lulu a bit kangtao…Pic only half face. (Don’t worry lulu… at least you had your name mentioned!)

9. The Reporter must have really lost the paper. (haha… A way to comfort ourselves on all the wrong details.)

Anyway, I am still happy that we get chosen. So be happy.

I also believe either GMH or me will appear in the papers again (hopefully it is for something good... haha), so this is just a preview. Haha…

So for the 2nd issue, we should get jersey since we r on the new paper, right? More like a team.

Pls do not use the blue shirt. Mine is so smelly. So can we buy new 1?
Then we keep budget within 20 bucks lor? Onzzzzzz?

Then, I just wanna tell you guys. I just had a hair cut. Very hard to style. Very expensive also (The 1st time I spent more than 10bucks on a hair cut.)

I am now gonna tell u about this ULITMATE kip hup I saw at my cousin wedding...

First of all, I must state that I do not know her and till now, still I do not know her. Thus, u can stop reading of you want... haha... (Usual I think this is what happen in our CLIQUE when we meet Kip Hupssss...)

Secondly, I know I can get desp at times... but this situation was not the just-look-see-comment-and-leave kind of kip hup... It is DIFFERENT!

Ok... as you know... I went to my cousin wedding on Saturday night and there were a lot of kip hups as usual at weddings... (I tried to wear super nice... so I think I look quite good at that time...) anyway, as I sat down and turning around looking for kip hups, I notice this girl directly in front of me (at another table). She was the KIP HUP of the kips hups there... wao... It was like she stands out from the crowd...

Then as I look at her within the mere 15 secs, she turns her head over suddenly. And our eyes met. I felt a flow of electricity running thought my body... It was like love at first sight... (Hey, dun laugh now... there is more...)

Next was the usual case again, I just cannot keep my eyes away from her. Not that I want to purposely look at her, but it was like SHE IS DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME!!!

Then over the whole course of dinner, I also saw her looking at me a few times. (Ok u can laugh all u want now...) So our eyes met more then one time... at this point of time, I was hoping this dinner could end earlier. I was somehow feeling uneasy and happy at the same time... A lot of stuff was running through my head, like hoping there was a chance to talk to her, there was a chance I will know her, what to do if she goes home, how old she is.... HAHA... super funny...

Anyway, at the end of the dinner, things went back to normal for me... she left first and I left later. In fact at the end, I was thinking that I should apologize to her, this was what I wanted to tell her....

"I am sorry if I cause u to be uneasy or disturbed during this dinner, but u just stands out from the crowd and I cannot take my eyes off u."

Hopefully this girl read blogs and sees this message. haha...

Anyway, to speculate why was she always looking over at me that few times, I came up with a few reasons...
1. She thinks I am kip hup and also wanted to know me.
2. She thinks that I am a pervert.
3. She thinks that I want to know her.
4. She feels that there are always 2 eyes looking at her.
5. It was also love at first sight for her.

HAHA.... That's all! She is still in my head right now... and hopefully I will meet her again somewhere someday...

We displayed team spirit, and constant encouragement from one another had pushed us to fight on!!! It's a pity that we lost, though we were leading initially. A Tribute to Steve Irwin

Don’t mourn, don’t cry, don’t be sad, that isn’t the way Steve would want to leave this world, for he was the happy-go-lucky, jolly fellow whose energy was boundless.

“Every morning when I wake up I’m raring to go. There’s simply not enough time for me, no time to waste. There is an animal in me I feed on everyday which allows me to work with creatures with a bond that is indescribable.”

His love for wildlife and crocodiles is unrivalled. His brash approach was at times controversial, yet he couldn’t care less, for he believed so strongly in the things he was doing. But that is the type of persona that the world will remember him, and one thing is certain, this man’s contribution to wildlife, animal conservation & nature is immense. It will forever be embedded in our hearts. There will not be another like him. He leaves behind a wife, two young children aged 2 and 7, and a legacy that will live on forever.

I’m sure he’s looking down on us from somewhere above, for the only reason for him leaving so early was that God felt he deserved a better place. Good guys always die young, he is no exception, and how ironic that he was killed by a stingray, the most placid of all creatures. He was only the third person in history to be killed by it.

At least he died doing the thing he loved and treasured the most, filming a documentary so that it can be shown to audiences worldwide, letting them know the importance of wildlife conservation. Although awfully premature, I personally feel that there isn’t a better way for him to die, and I sincerely believe he felt the same way too. He was that sort of person, he would rather get killed by an animal then die peacefully in his sleep. He’d rather leave this world with a bang, such is his character.

As Steve himself would say, “ Crikey!”

Yo Steve, if you happen to read this from somewhere over the rainbow, I sincerely thank you. You were a great man, an icon, larger than life, invincible yet unbelievably gentle & delicate when handling fragile animals. You were a great father, and I’m sure when Bindi & Bob grows up, they will be damn proud of you, and I’m sure they’ll continue your legacy. You were adored world-wide, including Singapore, where you accompanied me on Animal Planet every sleepless night during my darkest moments of my life. We share the same love for animals, and you were nothing short of someone I look up to and respect. I’ll never forget the scene when u cried your heart out in front of the camera when a crocodile died, seeing you feel so much for them made me tear too. You were an absolutely honest lad, and you’ll be remembered in every corner of the globe, for you have touched the hearts of millions, including mine.

In an episode of “Crocodile Tales”, you said, “Every single animal on this planet has a life, and no one, except God, has the right to take it away.”

In my tribute to you Steve, we share the same consensus, therefore I have promised myself as of 30 Sep 2006, I’ll never touch meat again.

I also promise that I will personally lay a bouquet of flowers for you in your Australian zoo. That’s the least I can do for you.

3 wins out of 3... Not too bad for a start to the new season. I've always reiterated that Saha is good and once again, my acumen was right. Althought the win against Watford wasn't pretty, it provided some comfort for me. Hell!!! Do I need that dose of solace??? Yup... Lulu saw through me. I haven't being feeling really great for the past week or so. I thought it would be good that I allay any worries that anyone of you might be having by making it clear in the blog. Guys... There's no cause for concern really. I'm just missing someone that I shouldn't so that's bothering me a fair bit. You should know I'm very susceptible to mood swing and it will probably be over before you know it. Anyway thanks Lulu and Bro Ed for your care and concern. I feel really blessed to know you guys. Hello there TNP!

My name is Kumar and I am sending this email on behalf of my fellow football crazies - GMH, which stands for Gi Meng Hock, just a crazy moniker some of us came up with. So why should our team be featured?

We definitely possess passion and great love for the beautiful game. This team has pounded the courts and fields for almost ten years now, through rain or shine, day or night, injury or sickness, and even the odd policeman and nosey resident.

We play every weekend at the basketball court at Lorong Liew Lian in Serangoon, often fighting hard for the right to play on that popular piece of concrete with many other teams.

Our team should be a posterboy for harmony in diversity. - Our motely crue of about 16 has players who have been playing together over a range of different years, from 10 to just over a year.

A brief sample of some members - there is Amanda(yes, we have a pretty gal in the team!), a sporty lass who is just as passionate about the game as she is about life. Non-identical twin brothers Avan and Kim, who play like there's no tomorrow and through numerous knee ailments. Alvin, a talented and skillful player who currently plays for SAFSA. Karthik, a charismatic all-rounder who is a familiar face on Vasantham Central and the Tamil theatre scene. And Yussof, a bulldozer of a player whose other passions include martial arts and social work. We have fans of Man United, Liverpool, Barcelona, Blackburn, Newcastle and Chelsea. And not forgetting the S League - Balestier Khalsa, Albirex, Young Lions, Sembawang Rangers, Jurong FC and of course, the Lions! We range in age from 21 to 23, so we're a relatively young team with plenty of spirit!In fact, we just played at the Cage in Kallang last weekend(attached is the photo)

I think i've said enough about GMH for now;why don't you guys come talk to us if you want to know more? We really hope our team will be featured.

Nothing Else Matters

Hello all, Kumar here. I figured its about time I started contributing to the blog and what better time than now!
I'm sure all of you will agree today was quite a happening day. The Cage was footballing ecstasy - congrats to the victorious Team A who narrowly clinched the title with 11pts. Of course i'll be biased and say my team, Team B, lost out narrowly on 9pts. To the 4pt back-enders, you guys should blame Selva for not turning up..haha. I thought your team was the strongest on paper, but the pitch is flat and the ball is round, so anything can happen. Better luck next time. Also kudos to sharpshooters Alvin Litmanen, Avan van Psychorooy and Amendi (wah, all the name start with A) for your individual 3 goal hauls and the courageous rocks on the last line of defence, particularly Ronin and Talen. And of course, thanks to Amendi for making it happen.

I always say "when there is a part 1, there is always a part 2" and it blew me away. I think I speak for Rashid too when I thank each and every one of you(literally) from the bottom of our hearts - Alvin, Amanda,Psycho,Lulu,Teh,Yussof,Terence,Teh,Ah Du, He Quan, Kati and AngHeng. A 22nd/23rd birthday party at a kids party room at McDonalds; only GMH has the genius and audacity to pull of such awesome feats! Hahah! The games were damn fun and everyone was such a good sport. Alot of people keep saying we're getting old 'cos we're into our 20s now, but I beg to differ. We're only as old or as young as we want to be and besides, our life expectancies are well into the 70s so we should all be looking forward to hitting the prime of our lives.

On a more personal note, I know I sometimes say or do things which don't go down well with people. I just happen to be an opinionated, strong-minded individual who trys to live with his many flaws and be the best damn version of himself for the people around him. I want to make a real difference to society one day. If you have a comment or point to make, I welcome feedback..haha. My favorite movie quote is "beneath this mask there is more than flesh, there is an Idea. And Ideas, are bulletproof." [V for Vendetta- 2006] - and i'd like to think I live up to that to a tiny extent. But the events of the past week did make me shed some tears behind my 'Agent Smith' shades on the way home today. This post is titled Nothing Else Matters 'cos that's always been my song for this clique. Its a moving ballad by Metallica whose lyrics describe extremely accurately how I feel about all of us. Once again, Thank you all very much.

What a vacation!!

It has been a long time since I blogged, so kinda think of writing one b4 going to bed. Recent activities had really driven mi crazy. Thanks to all of u that I am able to take my mind off things. It has been a long time since I enjoyed myself to the fullest, and the last time I can vividly remember was our clique bbq at East Coast park a few years back.

I had a great time in Taiwan, though Terrence was fucking naggy throughout the trip. But without his meticulous planning, this trip wont be a successful wan. And not forgeting Alvin who always entertained us with his usual crappy stuff. The sentosa trip that we went last Sunday was marvellous too, and I relish the thought of going there again to play my favourite beach volleyball.

I just came back from a play directed by our clique member, Karthi. The play was good, though it would be even better if he could improve on the subtitles. So Karthi, forgive us but psycho and I were kinda bored, and we had to make a quiet exit halfway for our smoking break. But the dialogue between Surai and Sudah nearly made me shed tears. It was like a film playing back of what happened between mi and her.

And guys remember our Batam trip next Friday. Msg me ur name, nric and date of expiry of your passport by Monday.

To her, if you happened to chance upon this blog, school is going to start soon. Hope the next time I happen to see u around in school u are really mugging with ur friends, at least dun let your parents worry about u.

O~ Bar!!! What a night we had there yesterday! Maybe it wasn't my best clubbing session but it's certainly among the top few. Gone were the days when I would binged on alcohol and scour the dance floor for vulnerable chicks with the notorious Binghan. Of course I'm not saying that I dun drink anymore or look out for pretty babes; just doing them to a lesser extend. While we guys were deciding on what drinks to order, an Irish chick just came up to us and asked us to dance. We were all quite taken by surprise but it was fine as she was tall and kinda "quai". Since there wasn't any alcohol in our blood stream yet, we excused ourselves and made our way down to 7-11 for some beer to get our heart pumping.

After one big can of beer and few sticks of fag each, we were all psyched up and headed back to where the Irish girls were. Hell! were we glad to see them still around... Even He Quan got a taste of what it felt like to dance with an european hot chick. He must have been in euphoria back then. Hahaha!!! So can you imagine what a guy like me n benny would do??? We danced, hugged and took pics with her. As for me, I even got to piggyback her. Wow!!! How often do you get to do that? But, I felt that her thighs were a lil too hairy for my liking. Lol!!! Seriously, I think this chick was just so fricking high as she was almost toking to everyone on the dance floor and dancing with them. Well... At least she looked like she was having a blast of a time. What went on after that just got me to put on my thinking hat.

Coincidentally, I happened to see her outside the club with her frenz when i was queueing to re-enter. Guess what??? She was crying inconsolably, complete contrast to what she was moments ago. I didn't mean to eavesdrop but I managed to catch a lil of their conversation. If I wasn't mistaken, I think she just broke up with her bf. This goes to show that no matter what a false front u try to put up when you're actually very hurt deep within, the facade will eventually be broken. It may be under the influence of alcohol or recollection fo memories. Whatever it is, the pain is so physically there that you can mask it but you will still feel it. So why all the pretence and not try to forget it. It may be hard but as long as you put your heart and soul into it and think bout all the wonderful possiblities out there, I believe time may just heal. I'm certainly trying so I hope pple who kana kangtaos before will share the same faith.

Just returned from our clique outing in Sentosa. As usual, there was plenty of fun, laughter and injuries from the soccer and volleyball. I personally enjoyed the dog & bone the most, imagine if we had 10 players a side! Luckily the rain was temporary, as predicted by weatherman psycho, deadly accurate as usual. My bro also joined us for the first time in many years! (wasted she didn’t wear bikini, the only damper in an otherwise perfect day...) eh boh lah kong qiu.. However, her long-awaited debut in beach soccer lasted for approximately 50.32 seconds. Thus the nick Djibril Leong. Hope u guys liked the kinder surprise we bought for u from taiwan. It wasn’t easy picking a present for all of u guys so pls open it only when u ARE GONNA USE IT!!!

The taiwan trip easily ranked tops beside my tioman trip with soff. Here’s special thanks to Daniel and Terence for making the trip so enjoyable! Never in my life will i ever experience the full brunt of a typhoon on top of the world’s tallest building! Without daniel, i wouldn’t have been able to successfully order my chocolate milk tea with braised egg. (small personal joke i share with dan). And although me and him always tease and make fun of super naggy terence, we want to let him know that he did an immaculate job of organising the trip, booking the flights & planning the literary. Thanks TALEN!! Great job, me and dan really appreciated it! I think i did my part by providing round the clock entertainment to u guys. Thanks guys, it was truly an memorable and unforgettable trip i’ll never forget! To me, it felt as though we covered the whole of taiwan with our endless walking and night markets! Haha.. One small note, we suck at reading maps!

Now for Xmas in New Zealand!!

Yesterday, while i was on a bus, i was thinking aloud to myself in wat way can the bond between clique members be forged closer, then, one word came to my mind, PAINTBALL! Although i’ve never played it, i feel that it is the perfect game for team-building and character strengthening. i dun think anyone of us played it before, so it promises to be fun. Just did a little bit of research, the game play is about 2 hours, with 5 members on each side, cost is dependent on how many paintballs we want to shoot, i suggest 2000, so each person roughly pays about $30 to $40, very cheap considering it is a 2 hour game. And considering last time we paid $6 for a stupid 12 minute lasermania game. More details on www.paintball.com.sg. Go check it out!! Now I'm in the office again... will try to complete this post for all Qi Ming Dang members to see...

1stly, Pls add some post as I don't want this to be my blog... haha... It is supposed to be our blog!

2ndly, I heard some very saddening remarks recently. After being in this clique since JC, I realized that I am still not really considered 'friends' by some members. Pardon me pls for putting up this post, cos I just cannot hide my urge to tell everyone how I feel.

Actually, I do realized why some of them will feel this way. Maybe it's because many of us are just not close enough. We may be only close to some individuals, but not everyone. However, pls realize the fact that we are all here to help each other, to assist each other, to improve one another and not just individually. As friends, when anyone is in trouble, I believe that all of us in this clique will jump out to help unconditionally.

On the issue of giving kangtao, I also believe my life will not be so colourful without them. Ti siao may not really be the way to communicate, but it is a very special characteristic of our clique which I think should continue to exist. Life will never be the same without these special stuff.

Here is a few example that state my case...

Pls take a look at Mendi, I personally think if he never ever meet us, he would become a rock statue at his house. (Cos of stoning..)

Take a look at He ge, don't you think we have inject more colours into his previous dull lifestyle... Be it the good or bad...

Take a look at Lulu situation that time, didn't most of us came out and accompany him most of the time...

That's is what I wanted to say...

To those that heard the message and felt angry or sad: Pls do not feel this way, or have the feeling like wanting to 'leave the clique'... We should prove to these people that we will always be here, be it rain or shine... We should try to open up to them and allow them to open up to us...

To those that make those remarks: Pls do not feel angry after reading this... I just want to have my say on this issue... Hopefully this will convince you that we are all your friends...

Lastly, I sincerely hope that this relationship I have with you guys could last forever...

Our 2nd day in taipei!!!

I m right now using the free internet access in the hotel lounge. Quite a few kangtaos for these 2 days.. Firstly we heard some funny noises while we were sleeping. It was quite scary, and we din really sleep the whole nite. Secondly, the flush in our toilet was spoilt. Intially, it was still functioning well and we din noe who the hell was the last one to use the toilet. Perhaps he was not one of us!!!! In order to check what happened to the flushing system, Alvin accidentally broke the toilet bowl.. lolz!!!

The kangtao has not ended yet... Alvin went to the tolilet at the hotel lounge instead. Without knowing, he flooded the toilet bowl with many tissue papers. In taiwan, You cant throw the paper inside the toilet bowl. You muz throw at the dustbin beside it..

Hai~ Kangtao la... There is a high chance that mob manning for my unit will be activated this weekend. That means I wun be able to send Lulu n co. off to taiwan. I'm very sorry bout that. The next best alternative will be to write an entry here to wish them Bon Voyage since this is our clique's blog. To those going to Taiwan, do enjoy urself but also be mindful that u're in a foreign land so hav to be wary bout ur own safety. Dun forget to buy lots of goodies back for us as well k. Oh~ Not forgetting to take lots of pics for those of us here who dun hav a chance to go just yet. Although a lil far fetched, do screw a few taiwanese girls if possible. HAhaha!!!!!!!!

I sense impending kangtao

Its 0530 sunday morning and i just woke up to get ready for the much anticipated St john trip. the thing about me is that i have a habit of waking up super early if there is an exciting event coming up later in the day.

However, realising that i woke up a bit too early and nothing much to do, i saw amendi's and psycho's comments in this blog.

U dun need a rocket scientist to figure out the kangtao. We are meeting 8am later.

Really looking forward to this trip coz no one been there before and we dunno wat to expect. But it couldn't be better timed for psycho to enjoy himself.

Deja Vu...

Hi guys... This is my 1st entry in our clique's blog. Hope it ain't too boring coz i'm gonna fill u guys in on my "ordeal". Got into some sort of kangtao lately and it was something similar to the one I had a few years back. A sense of deja vu started kicking in. I probably had one of my worst days in quite a few years yesterday and that served as a reminder of what I would expect in the future if i hadn't put an end to it. Well... A firm decision need to be made sooner rather than later and hell! did I made it. This time round, it took me a few weeks to realise that nothing is gonna work out so I see it as a vast improvement considering the fact that I took more than 1 year the previous time. The mental torment was simply too much to take. Anymore of it would probably drive me crazy and then, I can live up to my not so desired nickname "Psycho". Am I sad??? DEFINITELY!!! Am I proud of myself??? Without a doubt. I managed to let go of something that I hold so dearly to my heart which also in turn has such a detrimental effect on my overall well-being. To all my clique members, brace yourself for the imminent return of the old me. The facade is on again and it's not gonna be broken so easily anymore. Girls out there beware... I'm gonna let u feel the pain. Hahahaha!!!!!!!! Time to unleash the beast again.

The road to the ugly world...

Today, I went to watch 'the road to guantanamo' with Alvin and lulu. Its abt 4 guys who went to Afghanistan pre-Sep 11. I personally will recommend this film and to those that are still reading this post... I am sorry that I never mention that this film is a documentary, thus some people may find it abit 'kangtao'.

If you think that I will go on and talk about the film, U R super wrong... U want to know more about the movie... Go and watch lah...

In my life, I thought I have already had some of the worst punishment during army...
"Everything out in 3 mins"; "Everything in in 1 min"; "Down 180...Now!";
"Run to the trunk and back...QUICK!"

This is just the preview of some light punishment... I do not really want to talk about the heavy ones... It still sting talking about these stuff...

However, after watching the film, I realize what I have gone throught was nothing compared to the innocent people still trapped within the prison... I think I may just lose if I ever happen to be in one of the guy's situation... I am just feel so blessed right now.

So back to my post... Y ugly world?

Watching this kind of documentary films, make me feel so naive about what is happening around the world... Like that film by Michael Moore... or even this one that I just watched... Thus, Ugly world is just the only conclusion I could come up with. Pls remember WE (u and me) all are walking down this same road... U never know what is going to happen tomorrow, because tomorrow we may have just reach our destination of the ugly world and not being able to turn back...

So an advice to myself and you... Live life to the fullest each day...

This is so ironic... Here I am telling you this... But I just feel like slacking after making this post...

Then on my way to work, I heard about Zidane and his head-butt incident. I think its the 500th time i hearing this. You haf chosen this path, which is not going to be a smooth wan. Obstacles are lying in front of u, that can only be overcomed with great determination. Your parents won't be there for you. Friends can only motivate & guide u along the way. Ultimately it depends on u, whether u haf the preserverance to achieve ur goals or not.

Forgive mi for 2 things. Firstly, I dun see any future in both of u. Both of u differ so much in terms of characters, background and qualification. You haf to ask urself, are u happy when u are with her..Is she the one for you..Is she willing to embark on this tough journey and share all burdens wif u.. perhaps she is willing to do so now, but who noes she may change her mind one day. You are juz following ur heart but not ur mind. I understand how u feel coz i may do the same thing if she really comes back to mi. Since u chose to gif her another chance, i haf got nthing to say but sincerely prayed that u won't get hurt again.

Secondly, I dun think u shd really go back to study. Studying seems a chore to you, as far as i noe. Till now, i still feel that she is the driving force that motivates you to go back to school. I can't imagine what will happen if she leaves u.

My sincere apologies for any offence made. But i really hope you can prove mi wrong coz I dun wana see u sink into depression and back to square again.

I noe you are still hurt. But calling and messaging her won't alleviate the pain inside you. You haf to cast away ur selfish cravings in u and let her lead her own life. She needs experiences to grow up, though it may be too late by the time she really learns. This is life. All of us need to go through different phases b4 we become mature, and noe that certain things are beyond our control.

I'm so sorry that it happened but there are alot of things that u need to learn from this unfortunate episode. Both of us need to change to become a better boyfriend in the future.

I am glad that you have found ur interests that can take ur mind off things. I m still searching for it. Stay strong, for the sake of ur family, and friends who still care abt u. Like what Alvin always says, you will never walk alone..

My 1st thought was 'LULU, Dont change lah!'
We all knows how good u r and its true maybe we(all of us that were hurt once) should go with the flow and give other ppl kangtao....but WTF!!!!
At least i feel that most of us cannot do it.
I tried and i failed.
Becos i know if i go with the flow, i will still not be happy.

So let just be ourselves... if anyone from qi ming tang feels down, just remember the rest of our members are still there. I believe we will still be able to di siao with each other even when we are in our 50s'.

Hi guys, glad that the blog i started is picking up. But still a long way to go till the expected 500 hits, but i’m sure its juz a matter of time.

Stumbled upon the word “life expectancy” while flipping through time magazine that day, and figured something out.

Hope it interests u.

Did some research before coming to this startling fact:

Average singaporean life expectancy : 80 years

Age now : 22 years

Years left: 80 – 22 = 57 years

Time spent sleeping: 8 hrs a day = 19 years

Time spent travelling: 1.5 hrs a day = 3.5 years

Time spent in a lift or waiting = 0.5 years

Time spent in the toilet: 45 mins a day = 2.3 years

Time spent in a traffic jam: 1 year

Time spent waiting for retards: 0.5 year

The activities above I classify as something which just eats ur life away as it has zero productivity. Yet we have to experience it whether we like it or not.

So the amazing final figure i calculated as to how many years we have left to really live is an astounding:

57-19-3.5-0.5-2.3-1 = Roughly 30 years!!

Considering the past 22 years i have already lived was a blur and it flew by like 5 mins, i am proud to announce that i have only another 6 mins or so left before i can finally go to a place somewhere over the rainbow!!~~

Which brings me to another point, just waiting for some bloody latecomer for 10 mins a day will eat away 6 months of ur life. ( are u reading this assholes? U know who u are...)

Bottom line is, before u know it, u are gonna kick the bucket real soon....

KONG TOU SAO!!

I am tired.. God noes when this is gg to stop, but i noe it wont be that soon, or perhaps that day will nv arrive. I always wake up in the middle of the nite. My heart hurts, like needles piercing through it.. The feeling is torturing, but i have to endure it. I tried to occupy myself wif other stuff, but to no avail. She is always on my mind.. I smoke compulsively, hoping to reduce the agony inside me. I started to feel pain on my chest, and I noe this is a sign for mi to quit.. But I realize I cant.

She is young and immature, and wants to haf fun. She needs a lot of care and attention from mi. Unfortunately, I din meet her expectation. I dun blame her for leaving mi coz I was at fault too, and she is young to understand certain things. But I am utterly disappointed when she pushed all the blame to me.

Last Saturday, I went to haf dinner wif my uni friends. They planned to watch soccer after that. I din follow, coz she was there. Instead I went to clark quay alone, drinking by the riverside. That is the place where we celebrated our 3th mth anniversary. It has been a long time since I shed tears, as i reminisced the good old days we had together.

It’s a fact that we can nv be together. I am confuse, coz I dun noe if I am still waiting. Alvin is right. I need to throw throw morals and righteousness out of the window and go with the flow. But I noe my character too well.

To all my buddies, i am blessed to have you guys in my life. You all are there for mi when I’m in trouble. I will stay strong, coz I haf too much things to do in life. I am so sorry that I neglected you all during my school term. I will make it a point to spend more time wif u all in the future.

An exclusive first entry from alvin

Since i dun blog, i figured borrowing an entry’s space in psycho’s well received blog is the next best thing. Recent events have driven me to share my 2 cents’ worth on things. First of all, daniel’s demise. The last time i saw him shed tears was 8 years ago, i remember vividly wishing that would be the first & last time i ever experience something like that again. More often than not in life, u rarely get wat u wish for. Fast forward to the present.

i remember it was a Friday when i received the sms from lulu. The contents were vague, but i had a hunch something was terribly wrong. True enough, all of us were activated to meet up with him 2 days later. I was 99% certain it was related to her. Only something like that would sway daniel. As the events slowly came to light, the same old bloody story again. Was it really happening everywhere or is our clique just cursed? Whatever it was, i empathized with him and offered him some limited advice. I dun blame him, god knows how long it’ll take to get used to the fact that u can’t prevent shit from happening, coz i’m still waiting. The initial blow is a bitter pill to swallow, not that the searing pain ever dies down, but over time u will get used to it. There is no substitute for that emptiness you feel inside you, and all the time you’ll be asking yourself what have you done wrong and why is it happening. Suddenly your world comes crumbling down. Its so real, yet so unreal. The fact that it happened to someone like daniel only proves one thing, you got to do wat everyone else is doing, or else the only one left suffering is yourself. U have to throw morals and righteousness out of the window and go with the flow. He just has to learn this golden rule from this unfortunate episode.

Just now, when i was waiting for my hongkong noodles with daniel & terence at the coffeeshop opposite Anderson , i suddenly realised that i was sitting on the very table i sat on close to 10 years ago! A flurry of thoughts raced through my mind. Gosh! That’s a damn decade ago i was sitting in the classroom across the road. Naturally, memories came flooding back. The school was no longer the pink building with fading signs, it was quite recently renovated and the only thing recognizable was its structure and the carpark where we had our flag raising ceremony every morning, with psycho always the last to arrive. Not to mention the amount of hair i dropped coz of hair checks. It seemed like yesterday Binghan and Teh were still popping wantons into their mouths when the auntie wasn’t looking. Kumar and Karthi sipping their fav orange melon drink at the rifle range and being called up during assembly to dance to the blue suede shoes song in front of the sch. Bookworm daniel with his super thick hair still in class discussing some maths question with yiya & weiting after school. Buaya psycho hanging out with the girls at the stone table with his new botak look and crumpled uniform. Myself in the toilet jostling with others for the space in front of the mirror to comb my centre parting. Kaizhen with her cockroach hairstyle and glasses so thick it seemed bullet-proof.

All of the sudden i felt like a 13 year old again. The feeling was pure elation. Those were the carefree days when life was simple, innocent yet at the same time unforgettable. We were sheltered from the harsh realities that adulthood would inevitably bring.

To many of us, the school holds many fond memories that i’m sure we all cherish very close to our hearts that we will never forget. Looking back, how i wish time stood still there and then. Again, life often dun give us wat we wish for. Looking at the school now only reinforced a single point. The only constant in life is change.

Look at how all of us have grown. We’ve come to the point where we take different paths in life. Clique dinners have been few and far between. Slowly but surely, there will be less time to meet up and do stuff together. As we become adults, naturally there are burdens we have to shoulder. Some of us are gonna enter the workforce soon, some are gonna get married within the next few years and some are gonna further their studies. I hope those who are gonna work realise one thing. U are gonna embark on a 40 year long journey that is not gonna permit you to go on holiday as and when you like. Sitting in an office from 8 to 5 and only having weekends to take a breather is gonna be your routine for half of your life. Use your free time wisely to build and maintain relationships. For those who are gonna further your studies pls do so without quitting halfway and returning back to square one. Before you know it, u hit 30 with nothing to fall back on. If u still dunno the importance of it, i dunno if u ever will.

Watever you decide to do next, always ask yourself one thing. Is this wat i really want in life? Or am i doing this because everyone says its the right thing to do? Or is it because everyone is doing it therefore i must follow? If that is your mentality now, i suggest doing a thorough soul search. Friends are there to offer advice, but ultimately you are the one who needs to listen to your heart and follow wat it tells u. Earning millions in the future doesn’t constitute success. Following your dreams does. Some ppl are contented with sitting behind a desk doing the same no brainer thing over and over again for the rest of their lives, with money compensating for that overtime or burnt weekends. There is nothing wrong with that, the world can’t do without such ppl, but i for one wouldn’t take up such an offer, not even for a billion. I cherish my free time too much and i dun really fancy doing somethin that a robot does. Spending my life away behind a desk is too stifling. When u reach 60, you got to be able to look back at your life and say you lived it chasing your dreams, not some empty shell. Be a rich ass with no life or a poor dream chaser with an abundance of experience along the way which can’t be exchanged with all the wealth in the world. Choose wisely. It’ll determine the rest of your life.

Watever path u decide to take, one thing is for certain, there will always be trials and tribulations, obstacles laden along the way which you can’t overcome alone. U can’t remove a boulder in front of you without help. There is when friends and family plays an important role, giving us strength. They’ll always be there for one another when we need someone to turn to, lend a listening or support when we fall. These are the people whom relationships u need to build and maintain. I’m blessed to have such people in my life, and they take precedence over many things.

To lulu, and i speak on behalf of the rest of the less articulate guys, stay strong, u still have us. U deserve so much better and we’re so sorry it happened. Hope the taiwan trip takes your mind off things, although i hoped more people could’ve come. Look forward to our hot spring with KIP HUIPS!!
